Camping is a great way to get outdoors with your family and spend some time enjoying nature. It can also be a great way to “unplug” from the pressures of work, school and social media. Camping is also way more fun with more people so don’t forget to bring along your kids and even your pets to enjoy the great outdoors! Kids often come with a territory though, and might need a bit more than you do to spend a weekend without electricity and a proper bed. Here’s a list of the best camping gear for kids that will help make your weekend in nature all the more enjoyable.
Regalo Personal Cot – This cot is super affordable at only $25 and is the perfect bed for your child while camping. It can hold up to 75 pounds of weight and while it’s not functioning as a bed it can serve as a comfortable couch for your smaller guests. This cot is easy to travel with and will also make your kids feel more like they’re in an actual bed while sleeping outdoors.
L.L. Bean Sleeping Bag – These sleeping bags are by far the best as they are lined with a super soft fleece casing that will surely keep your kids warm while they sleep in a tent. Also, the outside cover of the case is totally customizable so you can put your child’s name on their sleeping bag so none of them get mixed up! They’re also super easy to travel with due to the handle feature on the outside of the zip up case.
CamelBak Scout Hydration Pack – This backpack is the perfect carrier for all of your child’s things while hiking such as snacks, band-aids and extra clothes. Not to mention the built in water storage that this backpack has and a connected mouthpiece for easy drinking without taking the backpack off. This backpack holds up to 10 L of water and has a built in safety whistle on the strap!
Black Diamond Wiz Headlamp – The easiest way for a child to hold a flashlight is when it’s strapped right to their head. This flashlight is specifically tailored for the little heads that children have and is also water resistant. If your kids want to fall asleep with a light on this headlamp turns off automatically after two hours and also runs on batteries so there won’t be a need to ever charge it.
Patagonia Down Sweaters – Any Patagonia options for kids are great for camping because they are sure to keep your child warm throughout the night and day. There are many different styles and colors of different Patagonia coats so there will surely be something to fit your child’s preference.
