You’ve got the suitcases packed. Everyone is loaded and strapped into the car. Gadgets and toys are stowed away to keep your kids entertained for hours. Your stash of snacks is within reach but, if you’re like me, you’ve forgotten one of the most important things: your water bottle! Let’s talk about the best travel water bottles.
Whenever you leave house whether it is to run an errand or travel for a few hours don’t forget your water bottle. It’s so important to stay hydrated and energized and not even coffee can do that better than water! Choosing water is not only a healthy choice but if you’ve purchased a water bottle already, it’s FREE!
Instead of purchasing heavy cases of water bottles, pick a single favorite water bottle from this list and use it over and over again. Not only will it pay itself off but you’ll be reducing waste and caring for the environment each time you fill up!
My husband teases me and says, “You look thirsty!” as he passes me a water bottle. A close friend of mine will often text me, “Drink water!!” as a thoughtful reminder because I am notorious for not drinking enough water. I have experimented with a variety of water bottle solutions in an effort to find one that will make drinking water easy, accessible and hassle free and I have found that there are water bottles to accommodate every lifestyle, form of travel, budget, etc.
The Klean Kanteen Classic is one of my go to’s when it comes to water bottles for the whole family. They are the pioneers of stainless steel water bottles and they have a mission to be as environmentally friendly as possible! Their lids come in everything from bottles to sippy cups to your traditional water bottle cap. So take your pick and mix and match with the whole family. (Note: If you’d like something insulated, they also have these options).
Life Factory Water Bottles are made with glass and a silicone outer covering to keep from breaking. While they have a whole line of glassware and tupperware, I have found their water bottles to be exceptional. Like Klean Kanteen, their have a variety of water bottles that vary in design, drinking cap and bottle size. The carry everything from bottles to 22oz adult drinking bottles. I have found their water bottles to be easy to clean (dishwasher safe) and surprisingly durable. I love the idea of having a water bottle that can grow with each member of my family.
Contigo is a third brand that I have been loyal to for several years. They make both stainless steel water bottles as well as BPA free plastic water bottles. Their signature feature is their auto lock which keeps from spills and leaks. They carry kid size water bottles and all of the lids are interchangeable. One unique model called the Kangaroo has a built-in pocket for you license, credit cards, and keys which can be very desirable for drinking water on the go while carrying as little as possible.
The Kor Nava is a water bottle that I recently discovered. I’ll add it to my list for best water bottles because of the fancy filter that allows you drink water in places where the water may not be suitable for drinking. Kor offers a variety of water bottles in both stainless and BPA plastic. The filters need to be replaced every two months so this may be a bottle that is purchased for a specific trip where clean water may be costly or difficult to find.
The Hydrapack Stash water bottle is made of silicone and can reduce to ¼ of its size when empty! This makes them perfect for backpacking or hiking. They are also significantly lighter in weight than their stainless steel counterparts.
The Vapur Eclipse can be rolled up or laid out completely flat. You may even call it the most compact “water bottle” around. I suggest having this water bottle second to plastic or stainless steel bottle. It is perfect for hiking, biking, traveling abroad or even around Disneyland!
